Ang Sang Wahe Guru
Traditional Sikh Prayer 'Jin Prem Kio' recorded by Snatam Kaur, Music arranged by Shimshai
Jin Prem Kio Tin Hee Prabh Paayo
(I speak truly- Listen & understand completely)
Saach Kaho Sun Layho Sabay
(One who practices this act of love realizes the Lord)
Ang Sang Wahe Guru
(The experience of God is within each & every limb, fiber, & cell)
This was the first song I ever heard by Snatam Kaur from one of her early albums and it always stuck with me. I think I just loved the sweet and simple message more than anything. Especially coming from the world of Hindu and Indian bhajans and chants where quite often we are invoking powerful deities, its nice to sing a mantra that is a bit more free and clear of any real specific energies other than truth and purity. An old friend of mine and Kundalini Yoga practitioner would translate 'Ang Sang Wage Guru' as: God is dancing in every cell of my being. I love the concept of God as an experience rather than an entity.
